Insurance Professionals of Gainesville

Upon graduation I never thought about an insurance career.  Life has a way of moving you in the right path; so I began my insurance career as a mail clerk/office assistant with Sidney O Smith Inc in June 2003. Within 3 months I was promoted to Personal Lines Processor and remained in Personal Lines Department for 5 years.   In the last 8 years my life and career has really changed.  I married in December 2003 and became a proud Mom in June 2007. My employer was purchased by BB&T in November of the same year.  Also in 2007 I obtained my Property and Casualty License. I was moved to Commercial Lines in 2008 as CL Processor and this year was promoted to Customer Service Agent.   With the encouragement of my employer I was able to complete the CISR designation in April 2010. My next venture is to obtain my CIC and that begins in November 2011 – wish me luck! !

I joined Insurance Professionals of Gainesville in August 2010, attended my first GA Council meeting in September and won the PRO Award which allowed me to attend the Region III Conference in April 2011.  I was honored by past RVP Bernice Ingram to represent GA as the Young Professional for 2011-2012.

I am currently serving as Secretary and Membership Committee Chair as well as Co-Chair of Fund Raising Committee for my local Association.  As a community project for IPOG, I volunteer at the NE GA Medical Center working in the gift shop once a quarter on Friday evenings.

I am very involved in Under the Bridge Ministry which is a local non-profit organization working with homeless and underprivileged families.  Each Sunday after church services, I help organize and serve meals. Just recently I volunteered with a project to solicit donations to prepare back to school supplies and clothing for underprivileged children.  We were able to meet the needs of over 900 children.

My true joy in life is my “little man,” Jordan who is 4 years old and is a star on his tee-ball team.

It’s a blessing to see him everyday after a day at work and hear a 4 year olds’ version of his daily adventures. The horrible 3’s are behind us and his precious personality is beaming out.  I think I will keep him! ! !

God has truly blessed me with a wonderful family and NAIW friends.
